Am I the only one that eats an avocado with sugar and milk?

Everyone that sees me eat it is absolutely disgusted. When in actuality it’s DELICIOUS! Maybe because it’s green?? My husband calls them ‘pears’, (he’s a foreigner!) and just eats them like you would a cantaloupe or a banana. I say that that is quite disgusting! Anyway, has anyone tried it prepared my way?

First, see the different types of avocados here:

http://www.avocado.org/about/varieties

I’ve always used the fuerte avocados. I’m not sure how the other types would turn out. I don’t think much different.

Anyway..short and simple..this is the ‘recipe’….

(Make sure your avocado is ripe. Somewhat soft to the touch when squeezed. Not hard as a rock! The insides should be easy to spoon out.)

-Take one large avocado…cut it in half, remove the seed
-Scoop out the flesh into a blender
-Add about 3/4 cup of milk
-Add about 3 tablespoons of sugar
-Mix, Mix, Mix…until as smooth as yogurt.

VOILA! Done. It is so delicious!

There’s really no set amount of sugar or milk to put into it. It’s just made to your liking. The more milk/sugar you add..the lighter in color it turns out to be.

Nowadays, I prefer to just prepare it with a fork as opposed to a blender. I like the avocado chunks in there. Sweet yet salty.

If you try it…let me know how it turns out and if you like it!

BTW..I’m not sure of the health benefits of it..I guess it all depends on how much sugar that you add/don’t add.
Oh yeah…or you can substitue whole milk and sugar with sweetened condensed milk. This often turns out really sweet!

This recipe is inspired by my mother..a native of the Philippine Islands.
